Though Apple’s effort to expand its digital payment platform might be moving at a slow pace, it is still scoring some important points nonetheless. Last year, countries like Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and the United Arab Emirates, started using Apple Pay, now Brazil is officially added to the supported list as well. Cupertino is a bit behind the competition when it comes to the vast Latin American market since both Samsung and Google already have their pay platform running up in the country.
Apple Pay is still all about third-party support when it comes to digital payment and Apple is off to a strong start with a 90-day exclusive launch partnership with Brazil’s top private lender, ItaĆŗUnibanco Holding. The company has over 1.2 million VISA or Mastercard holders in Brazil, who can now pay with compatible Apple devices like iPhone, Apple Watch, or other Apple devices at thousands of eligible locations.
