The Egypt Preliminary Squad for the FIFA World Cup coming up in Russia next month has been announced by the Head Coach, Hector Cuper. The surprise player listed in this 29-man squad is Mohammed El Neny, as the coach opted to select him despite his struggles with an ankle injury.

The inclusion of the 45-year old captain, Essam El Hadary in the Egypt Preliminary Squad also sets the scene for the goalkeeper to become the World Cup’s oldest player. The star name among the list is obviously Mohammed Salah, who broke the record for goals in the just-concluded English Premier League season.
