In my last post about cybersecurity, I gave a brief introduction about what cyber-attacks and threats are all about and the need for cybersecurity training. I did not just stop there, I continued by giving a list of cybersecurity training services providers you can find in Nigeria and their various locations in the country. For my readers outside Nigeria, you can also find various training centers in your respective countries, till I find time to compile some lists in some countries. In this post, I will be showing you some cybersecurity certifications and training programs you can easily enrol for in various training centers.
Cyber security education is structured around 4 key pillars:
- Technology, and
- Digital forensics
This training actually covers all the core needs of an organization or state institutions. Some staff like corporate lawyers may require training on policy, while those in the Information Technology field may require technical skills. The duration of each cybersecurity course and training program is dependent on various service providers and institutions. The minimum training period is 3 months while some specific courses can even last up to a year. Now let me show you some cybersecurity certifications and training programs you can easily enroll in and get the required knowledge you need to protect yourself from cyber-attacks.
Cybersecurity Certifications and Training Programs
1. Certificate in Cyber Security Policy (CCYP)
Certificate in cybersecurity policy categorically deals with the policy analysis and implementation aspect of cybersecurity. It entails theory and topical issues at enterprise and government levels, and also technical and management components in the fields of information security systems. This program is designed to help learners develop the necessary skills on policy, ethical and legal issues associated with cybersecurity and information security.
2. Diploma in Cyber Security Policy (DCYP) Capstone
This cybersecurity training program is basically, practically oriented. Learners who enrolled in this program are tasked with developing solutions for a theoretical or real case cybersecurity policy issue with the guidance of a mentor. At the end of the program, successful learners are required to carry out a practical project before certification is been issued to him or them.
3. Certificate in Cyber Security Technology (CCYT)
This program is designed to provide learners with skills to analyze multi-faceted complex cybersecurity issues, develop capabilities to make strategic decisions to protect organizations from threats, and become competent cybersecurity professionals.
4. Diploma in Cyber Security technology (DCYT) Capstone
This program is also practical-oriented. During the program, learners are tasked with developing capabilities in the core aspect of cybersecurity. They will be giving access to some tools and equipment to work with throughout the duration of the program, A project report is also required by the end of the program year before certificates are giving.
5. Certificate in Cyber Security Management (CCYM)
This program equips learners with modern skills to become effective managers across the broad nexus of cybersecurity and intrusion prevention in organizations. The main purpose of this training is to develop the capacity to prevent anticipated cyber intrusions, by using experiences to mitigate future threats, and formulating and implementing enterprise-level cybersecurity roadmaps. The program also talks about the roles of regulation policy developments, legal instruments, and civil liberties.
6. Diploma in Cyber Security Management (DCYM) Capstone
This is another practical-oriented design for learners to embark on developing cybersecurity project management capabilities with the guidance of a mentor. During the course of the training, learners will develop cybersecurity implementation frameworks. A project is also required at the end of the program.
7. Certificate in Cyber Security Intelligence and Digital Forensics (CCDF)
This program is structured to provide modern skills to learners who are interested in digital forensics, digital intelligence, and uncovering digital evidence. It equips learners with broad analytical frameworks and gets them prepared to become competent cyber investigators.
8. Diploma in Cyber Security Intelligence and Digital Forensics (DCDF)
This is also a practical-oriented program where learners are tasked with developing capabilities in digital forensics, digital evidence, and digital intelligence. They will be giving access to some tools and equipment to work with throughout the program. Submission of a project report is also required at the end of the program.
These are some of the cybersecurity certifications and training programs you can easily register for and get the required experience to combat different forms of cyber threats. If you still need some additional information, you can simply make your inquiries by using the comment box below.
