Performance and Battery Improvement
The Snapdragon 845 new chipset will be equipped with an octa-core CPU clocked up to 2.8GHz. The new Kryo 385 CPU improves the performance over the prevvious chipset by over 25 to 30%. However, four of the eight cores are based on Cortex A75 architecture. The remaining four cores are based on Cortex A55 and is clocked up to 1.8GHz.
Like normal, the Snapdragon 845 features is focused on improving battery life. The new Snapdragon 845 chipset is capable of making your phone run on 4 hours Ultra HD video playback after a single charge. Quick charge 4.0 feature will also enable your device to experience 0 to 50 percent charging in just few minutes.
Facial Recognition and Security
Facial recognition is a trending means of improving the security of mobile devices. The Snapdragon 845 will feature a depth-sensing facial recognition, which many users of the recent iPhones are already enjoying. The chipset will also support iris recognition, a technology which is considered to be more secure than facial recognition.
To address fears of facial recognition and the compromise of other biometric data, the Snapdragon 845 SoC will have a new isolated secure processing unit, which will be used to store and verify the biometric data.
